    Unlike other scabies treatments, Skabi-Rid only has to be applied once.
    It stays on the skin longer and has a residual effect after treatment. One application at night time that has to be washed off in eight to twelve hours (next morning) is enough to cure scabies permanently. The vanishing lotion is applied to cover all skin from the ears to the soles of the feet and applies easily. Washing off with normal soap and water is easy as the lotion is non fatty.

    Permethrin is a synthetic chemical similar to the natural insecticide
    pyrethrum which comes from the chrysanthemum plant. Less than 2% gets absorbed through the skin and is quickly ester hydrolysed to the inactive metabolites. It has been used in extreme cases of scabies in babies as little as two weeks with no ill effects.
    Skin irritation is rare and toxicity is much lower than lindane, benzyl-benzoate and monosulfiram.

    Permethrin 5% is the drug of choice for treatment of scabies. With a single application, Skabi-Rid has been proven more effective than
    multiple applications of benzyl-benzoate, the standard treatment of scabies up to now. It also has a lower relapse rate and prevents re-infestation as it remains present on the skin for several days after initial application.
